During the weekend of June 22-23, David Jurca traveled all the way
to Vancouver Island for Round 2 of the BCKCA Regional Series. The
race was located on a temporary course in a small town called Youbou.
For this race, Jurca would participate in the ICC and ICA class.
In ICA, David qualified off pole and finished
second in the prefinal just behind his teammate Jordy Vorrath. For
the first of two finals, Jurca swapped positions many times with
Vorrath and after taking the lead for the final lap, he broke a
chain with two corners to go and coasted to the finish line in fourth
place. For the second final, Jurca worked his way up to second and
chased Vorrath to the end, finishing second.
In the ICC shifter class, Jurca would qualify
pole, with teammate Vorrath in second. Jurca would win the prefinal,
as well as the first final. In the second final, he would finish
second to his Italian Motors teammate. All in all, it was a successful
weekend, especially for the Italian Motors/ITALKART team. After
the weekend, Jurca said, “Both Jordy and I were very fast
this weekend. Our karts were set up to perfection and it was pretty
much a race just between the two of us. Losing my chain on the last
lap in ICA hurt, but it was a good thing I finished and picked up
some points. Currently I am second in points in ICA and leading
ICC by a healthy margin. I feel optimistic for the final race of
the series in Chilliwack, B.C.” David would like to thank
his sponsors Best Ceramic, European Tile Inc., Italian
Motors, ITALKART,
Kuzzins Kustoms, Bell
Helmets, MyChron,
Serengeti Design, and Jim Mason.
