CART Stars of Tomorrow Regional Race: Sonoma, California
One
week before the Stars of Tomorrow event in Primm, Nevada, David
Jurca traveled to Sonoma, California to take part in round two of
the Stars of Tomorrow Regional Series. This was his second time
driving an ICC shifter engine and so he wanted some extra practice
before the national even in Primm, Nevada.
In qualifying, David suffered a problem with the motor, which forced
him to qualify 29th out of 34 competitors. Since there was no prefinal,
David would start the final in 29th spot and drive hard to finish
9th. David said, “I was disappointed to have had a problem
in qualifying but I guess it is better that it happened here and
not one week later. My ITALKART and TM motor were running very well
as my lap times were similar to the leader’s when I was out
of traffic. My fastest lap time was actually only 2 hundredths of
a second slower than the leader’s fastest lap time. With the
way my kart was working here, I should be able to have a successful
weekend in Primm, Nevada.” As always, David would like to
thank his sponsors Best Ceramic, European Tile Inc., Italian
Motors, ITALKART,
Kuzzins Kustoms, Bell
Helmets, MyChron,
Serengeti Design, and Jim Mason.
