BCKCA Championship Round Three: Chilliwack, British Columbia
Coming
into the BCKCA Championship finale in Chilliwack, B.C. on September
20-22, David Jurca was second in the points in ICA and leading ICC
shifter by a healthy margin. He would have a chance at winning the
two most competitive classes in the BCKCA Series.
In ICA, Jurca qualified second behind teammate Vorrath in the 24
kart field. Jurca would play it smart and finish second in the prefinal
and both finals, successfully securing the 2002 BCKCA Championship
in the ICA category.
David Jurca clinched the 2002 BCKCA ICC Championship after qualifying
on pole and setting a new track record. The 17 year old won both
final's in the 27 kart field and was followed closely by his teammate
Jordy Vorrath. Vorrath had a great weekend as well, finishing second
in both ICC finals. After the race Jurca said, "I have to thank
my mechanic David Carpentier and Italian Motors for giving me such
a reliable and consistent kart to drive each weekend." Jurca
won four of the six finals enroute to the 2002 BCKCA Championship.
