David Jurca (ITALKART/Italian Motors TM) locked in the West Zone
championship title today with his win in the Flatout Gaskets Pro-IC
class with 29 entries for the Italian Motors Team and Italkart chassis.
The American driver was plus 2.2 seconds on Benny Moon (PTK/TM Swedetech)
and Ron White (CRG/PAVESI Swedetech) in the 27 lap feature race.
Ron White topped out the podium spot with third and was almost three
seconds in front of fourth place finisher and Trackmagic driver,
Kyle Martin from Dallas, Texas. Jurca secured the championship title
in the most popular class of the year and against the best drivers
in North America. Jurca and teammate Jordy Vorrath have had an impressive
season to date by capturing victories in each SKUSA Pro Moto event
they entered this year.
David Jurca held off Ron White on the opening laps and he was able
to stretch out a lead by the half way point in the 27 lap feature.
Jurca said, " I was able to get a great start and by the time
my kart came in on lap five, I was able to build a gap. My Italkart
handled so well for all 27 laps, even in this extreme heat and on
a track that is tough on tires. It is a testament to how well the
new 2003 Italkart is working." Jurca claimed part of his success
not only to a great handling chassis but a powerful TM Italian Motors
produced to assist the Seattle Native to am impressive victory.
" Since Italian Motors installed the new IM dyno, we have seen
huge gains in horsepower and we have the reliability to back it
up," said Jurca.
David Carpentier who was named one of the 12 best tuners in the
latest Shifter Kart magazine worked on motor set up while Michael
Valiante assisted Jurca and the young and up and coming Italian
Motors drivers with chassis set up and driver coaching. Team owner
Claudio Valiante said after the race, " I am happy that everything
has come together so well. Every employee has been working so hard
for this from the engine tuning department to the chassis tuning
department even our secretaries!. We are looking forward to the
rest of 2003." The Team is focusing on the SKUSA title when
they go up against the EAST for the second time this year.
