Tony Kart USA Racing Team Line Up March 13th, 2006: Also for 2006, the TONY KART USA RACING TEAM will learn from the international successes of the Factory Tony Kart Racing Team. The professionalism and competitiveness of that staff made of engineers and experienced professionals will help to ensure the USA team has access to the most advanced equipment and information. The tests in Europe during the winter months, as well as the material research and development work-in-progress made by TONY KART and VORTEX, have lead to excellent results. The season will officially begin in March at the Stars of Karting Race of Americas in Norman, OK. The team will contest the full season of Stars events, including a full effort in both the East and West. Added to the schedule will also be the CIK North American Championships, which is scheduled to take place in Norman, OK on October 20-22. Filling the voids in the schedule the team plans to attend several tests and special one-off racing events. The official drivers of the TONY KART USA RACING TEAM for the ICC class are David Jurca, reigning Stars Finalé Winner; Keith Spicer, rookie sensation and lead contender for SKI Rising Star; and an ever progressing Ryan Yop. New to the team, but not to the sport, David Jurca will undertake this new season not only in the USA ICC class, but also in Europe where he will join the Factory Team, precisely in the two races of the European Championship and the S-ICC World Cup. Along side Jurca in the European Championships will be teammate Ryan Yop. This experience will be the first of its type for both drivers, and the skills they acquire abroad will undoubtedly only help their fight stateside. Returning from the success as the resident ICC rookie, Keith Spicer, starts competing again with huge momentum from the recent sweep of Florida Winter Tour Round 1. For 2006, focus will continue on the ICA category. The team welcomes the return of Joel Miller, who joined Tony Kart in 2005, when he piloted the Racer and Vortex to the ICA West Championship. In the JICA class the TONY KART USA RACING TEAM will line up together with a returning Christian Stover and two new drivers Gustavo Menezes and Alex Wikell. Stover competed with TONY KART during last season, demonstrating strong developments in craft and qualities needed to remain one of the official drivers in 2006. Menezes first race as an official driver of the TONY KART USA RACING TEAM in JICA class will be at this year’s season opener.
