BCKCA Championship Round One: Quesnel, British Columbia

On
the Wednesday before round one of the BCKCA Regional series in Quesnel,
B.C., the Italian Motors team decided they wanted to participate
in the event. David Jurca made his way to Canada after school on
Thursday and arrived at the track at one in the morning.
Friday was practice and Saturday was qualifying and prefinals.
David participated in ICA and in ICC for the very first time. ICC
is a purpose built 125cc shifter class. In ICA, David qualified
second, just a few hundredths off of pole and in ICC he qualified
2nd in a 35 kart field. Both classes had two separate finals on
Sunday.
In the first finals, David finished first in ICA and first in ICC.
In the second round of finals while leading ICA, David was hit and
taken out of the event. There was extensive damage to his kart and
his leg suffered from injured muscles and tendants. In ICC, David
got a good start to first but would struggle with worn tires and
he ended up finishing third. David explained, “The weekend
turned out to be pretty good. I won the first finals in both classes
and had a shot at winning the second final in ICA but unfortunately
I was taken out of the event. In ICC, we made a bad tire decision
and paid the price as our tires didn’t hold up in the second
final. Overall though, I was pleased with the way the weekend went
and especially how well my new prototype ITALKART was working in
the ICA class. I look forward to round two of the BCKCA Regional
Series in Youbou, B.C. on Vancouver Island.” As always, David
would like to thank his sponsors Best Ceramic, European Tile Inc.,
Italian
Motors, ITALKART,
Kuzzins Kustoms, Bell
Helmets, MyChron,
Serengeti Design, and Jim Mason.
