December 13th, 2005:
Ekartingnews.com has confirmed that Stars of Karting National Finals
ICC winner David Jurca is leaving Italian Motors after more than
nine years. Jurca has made the decision to take another offer from
a yet unreleased team for 2006. According to Jurca, the deal includes
competing in the East and West Stars of Karting divisions as well
as the European Championship and World Cup in Super ICC.
“It was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made,”
stated Jurca when talking to EKN News Manager David Cole. “The
whole Italian Motors team has been like a second family for me but
I felt that I could not pass up the deal I was offered.”
Jurca had a tough returning year after spending the 2004 season
concentrating on formula car competition. The Federal Way, Washington
resident pulled double duty for Italian Motors this year after the
April departure of ICA driver Jordy Vorrath. He finished tenth in
both the final ICC and ICA Stars points standings, earning three
ICA victories and only the Finale victory in ICC. In November, Jurca
swept the TaG Senior division at the SKUSA SuperNationals IX while
finishing sixth in the SuperPro group.
“It came as a bit of surprise to me to be honest,”
stated IM's Team Manager Michael Valiante when asked about Jurca’s
decision. “Italian Motors has produced many great drivers
and we will continue to do so. We look forward to another great
season where we will be entering nine drivers in the Stars of Karting
Series as well as a variety of others.”
Stay tuned for confirmation on Jurca's team for 2006.
