TDI Cup Documentary Airs Again this Saturday and Wednesday
February 27, 2009
Just a reminder for those that missed the previous showings, the
Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup Documentary titled “Racing Under
Green” will be airing this Saturday February 28th at 10pm
pacific/ 1am eastern and this Wednesday March 4th at 10am pacific/
1pm eastern on the Speed Channel.
Speed Channel has been filming the drivers beginning with the driver
selection process in April as well as every race to catch everything
that happened on and off the track. The final 90-minute documentary
will show the action and drama of the series, highlighting how the
drivers have progressed in their racing careers. Included in that
90 minute documentary will be a feature on Pignataro Volkswagen
supported David Jurca where the filmmakers actually traveled to
Seattle to highlight David’s life outside of racing as well
as film his grandfather’s historic Czech racecar and the story
behind the discovery of it. Don’t miss it!
David Jurca’s 2008 racing season was made possible because
of support from Pignataro Volkswagen, Redapt, Serengeti Design,
CMSI, Italian Motors, Washington Cedar and Supply, Oakley, and Bell
Racing Helmets. Like most drivers in the world of motorsports, he
began his racing career in karts. Displaying great natural talent,
the 23 year-old quickly progressed up the karting ranks, winning
numerous championships along the way and racing head to head against
current Formula One, Indy Car, and NASCAR drivers such as Lewis
Hamilton, Graham Rahal, and Scott Speed. In 2003, he was a finalist
in the Red Bull F1 Driver Search. In the last five years, Jurca
has been the number one ranked shifter kart driver in North America
three times and continues to split his time between his car racing
aspirations and the Stars of Karting National Championship.
